Not that my opinion matters in any way but I felt like mentioning that I had a blast on sullon zek----for a while.
I created a druid (the first druid I had ever played) about a week after the server opened and it was some of the best fun I ever had in EQ. The fun lasted for a few months and then it went downhill for me.
My problem is that I was, and am, what I believe is now refered to as a "scrub". That is, I don't usually level really quickly and don't really have time for raiding on a regular basis. So after a while I had fallen too far behind the pack in levels and after a while longer the raid loot on other players was becoming much more common. I was out-leveled and out-geared and at that point I was just a moving target for other players.
Even then there was a certain amount of fun in playing the hide-and-seek survival game, feeling like a hunted animal just trying to stay alive. But you can only do that so long before the feeling that there is no future in it catches up to you.
So I would be interested in a classic PvP server but probably wouldn't play on it unless there some non-classic elements to it. Like a lower level cap maybe or removing raid content so the, as you all say, "poopsockers" wouldn't have such a ridiculous advantage.
Or maybe if item loot was a part of it and there was some mechanic to prevent people from bagging their gear if they know they are going to die (like no un-equiping items for x amount of time afer being attacked by another player). That would make people think twice about dumping high end equipment on low level twinks.
I'm sure someone will revile me with a variety of creative insults now. Whatver, this is just my opinion. PvP can be a lot of fun. Being a hunted animal in PvP can even be sort of fun. But knowing that you will always be the hunted animal with no hope of any other future sucks the fun out of it afte a while.
