Norrath is actually a post-apocalyptic Terra. Haleys comet crashes into Terra and a bunch of nukes get fired off in the process. This alters the face of the earth. Humans are warped by nuclear, cosmic, and spiritual radiation.

History is lost. We lose the ability to communicate long distances. Everything is forgotten and eventually from the ashes is born myriad new cultures. Some entities have gathered enough nuclear/cosmic/spiritual radiation to become "Gods" in their own right.

The combine emperor is the ruins of our own civilization at its apex. Elon Musk created a business called Pyramid Portals after buying the Pyramids of Giza from Egypt and unlocking the Secret of the Pharaohs, namely Wizard Ports.

This theory is flawless because it accounts for variants of racial stereotypes exhibited in the fantasy menagerie of humanoid races. Humans are gentiles. Erudites are black people. Dwarves are jewish people. Gnomes are short people. Halflings are less short people who love beer. Elves are humans who cut the ears of their infants like circumcision. Iksar are humans who bred with the horny toad. Trolls are humans who ate too many swamp fungus. Barbarians are humans who are particularly uncouth. Ogres are humans who shopped at the post apocalyptic equivalent of walmart and never learned to read. And they are ALL affected by the cosmic, spiritual, or nuclear Radiation sickness.

The pyramids of Giza were actually used for collecting cosmic energy from the stars as well as from the surrounding land. When pyramids are placed on ley lines (Terra's natural magnetic fields and aligned with the stars one can collect FREE energy from the planet and universe. (THIS IS WHY PYRAMIDS ARE PLACED WHERE THEY ARE BOTH IRL AND INGAME.)

The Pharaohs used this technology to harness the sun and the surrounding areas to ionize gold that would be ground down and baked into bread that ONLY the Pharaoh was allowed to eat. When ingested the ionized colloidal particles would turn the skin GOLD and it would extend your life for HUNDREDS of YEARS. It was a rite from the Gods and one of the last teachings that the Gods handed down to the Pharaohs. (Give us this day, OUR DAILY BREAD) Moses' family was actually the one who had the recipe for this gold powder-bread. It broke down to simply this, up atop the great Pyramid there was a capstone which housed a conductive golden box. Inside this box, the Arc of the Covenant and a super helix carbon stone were placed in with a pool of liquid maana. (I kid you not, they would distill magic into a liquid form and use it for rituals and spells.) When the energy of the area and the stars were focused and the box activated, the super helix stone would catch on fire for HOURS in a strange ghostly way looking blue and purple. This was the burning bush that Moses said he saw later on. The creation of Christianity was a conspiracy involving the Pharaoh, the Pharisees and ancient Sumerian texts which depict a savior getting crucified and put in a cave for three days LONG before Yeshua even lived. When you're working for a guy who lives forever and holds power of the GODS over you...you're going to do anything to help him even when he threatens your family and you.

The Egyptians created one of the most elaborate empires from direct instruction from Gods and when the Gods left, they placed Pharaohs in charge. These Pharaohs were very greedy and desired power above all. They wanted to enslave the Hebrews and then they wanted to ensure that future generations could be enslaved so they conspired to create Christianity from their own workings with divinity. Then when the empire of Egypt collapsed and the Muslims invaded, the Pharaohs (they didn't all die, some were murdered and some escaped to the Americas.
