Genetic recombination is one
mechanism by which the process of evolution and natural selection proceeds. Recombinant procreation was selected for because it enhances genetic diversity and increases the rate at which a species adapts to selection pressures. It's a perfect example of the power of evolution.

As to your sickle cell comment, environmental pressures do create genetic changes, but that is a very micro-change and happening in a more pressured environment... Not to mention completely unrelated to arguments like intelligence and capabilities yadda yadda.

Italicized is the definition of natural selection.
Evolution manifests as a multitude of "micro-change"s (did you forget that I ripped into you for using these bullshit subjective terms? or do you have no comprehension of what I meant? seriously, this paragraph isn't even an argument); as I said, you don't go from redneck twit speaking past his intellect to raichu in one step. As a rule, any random phenotype which is drastically different from the parent will not fare well. See: virtually any birth defect. A billion baby steps, not a few big ones.
