The one rule on Sullon Zek was that there were no rules. The level restrictions on PvP combat were removed, training and corpse-camping became legitimate tools of war, and GM's took an entirely “Laissez affaires” attitude toward players grievances. Sullon Zek was to become one of the most ruthless, savage displays of antisocial humanity to ever exist in an online game, drawing the most competitive, committed players from the EverQuest community to a single battlefield.

Those playing on Sullon suffered incredible levels of torment and frustration, lost months worth of achievements in a matter of hours, and spent endless nights in combat against relentless and merciless foes. Yet speaking with players who fought and died on the fields of Sullon Zek, one finds their appreciation for the server, their sense of accomplishment about battles both won and lost, and their desire to return to be unanimous. As barbaric as Sullon Zek was, it was the greatest PvP server to yet exist in a multiplayer MMO."
I'd like to point out that this was a new frontier, and griefing tactics were perfected here. I'd also like to point out there was a very large pool of players, and the odds of keeping even several hundreds of players in a griefing style server is going to be highly unlikely. I can also point out that a low pop. server with griefing is going to be complete shit.

The greatest experiences in Everquest I ever had were on VZTZ 1.0-3.0 with legitimate mass pvp battles over raid targets. Only in plane of fear/hate did we see trains ruin these fights. Very rarely Sebilis. If even one GM is able to be present for the big raid fights they tend to go smoothly. And even the small scale PVP in dungeons like Lower Guk and Solusek B were fucking epic.

Hacks - They ruined the server at certain points, no doubt about it.
LV - 1.0 . Eventually banned.
8iu- 1.0 Zonecmd delete, ends server.

Nonetheless, between these rare instances of faggotry, there was nothing but epic battles and sweet taste of victory. Mass PVP excluding the above mentioned abuse, was controlled by the better guild, no MQ sploits could save a bad guild from a better coordinated team.
