Welcome to project 1999! To "get" a mage or necro, follow the P99 startup guide, then, once you log into game, select create a new character.

Then select a race that can be a mage or necro

gnome high elf dark elf erudite human iksar maybe some other race too

then select either magician or necromancer as the class.

before continuing you will have to spend all of your availability ability points. IT doesn't really matter where you put them I would probably just go with intelligence, possibly strength so you can hold more items. Stamina is a cool choice if u max it out you get 13 more HP than a non stamina player at maximum level.

in about 40 hours of play time you will be level 50.
