Some spells get more powerful with level, so that is another boost you might see.
I see under the game mechanics section a list of sta conversion rates but nothing for mana. And I am having trouble finding the table for levels other than 60. Also is that just the ending formula? A magician will never see more than 2.4hp a lvl? And it is assumable at 58 the formulal could be 2.25 or some such?
