Gardur is simply trying to say that Akinn is a better paper, gardur could no way beat Akinn without attempting to cause mob aggro onto Akin.

Gardur is saying that if there is a single mob within 4 miles of Akinn, he will find a way to train himself. I've seen this many many times.
