Enchanter is a better soloer in almost all situations but it's a trade-off - necro has a much lower risk involved due to self heals, FD and insta invis.
So you gotta factor in all the times the enc dies and has to CR naked and maybe find a res, or sit for 15 minutes to regen lost HP, while necro can just tap an eye or a mob and be ready to go in a minute.
Of course if one is a godmode Enc who does Brood mother at level 54 with little difficulties, he probably never dies in EQ, so this doesn't apply. =)
