The problem is that DaP leadership has zero control over it's members. There is nothing to keep their members in line or held to a standard of excellence. It's just a pub nub guild of porters who are trying to make plat off other people's laziness.

So even if they did strike,. some of their members would still port people. It's not like they have a code of honor or ethics.
There's some truth to this, but you underestimate the people in the guild. There is some structure, and some higher ranked members are frequently in guild chat offering advice or instruction.

If the guild leadership told people no porting, 99% of them would abide by this. You might have one retard that decides not to listen.

People outside the guild like to say the guild is full of losers who can't do anything else but port (and barely manage that.) This is not true.

When I was in DaP one guy was a raid geared druid, who dropped tons of info on people working their epics, or who just needed info regarding other facets of the game. He wasn't the only one either.

The guild has a really strange mixture of different types of players.

Some are passing through and only want to use the DaP tag to make plats, while others end up there after raiding and simply join for the guild chat atmosphere and fun of porting people around for the hell of it.

Some people join because the guild really does have a lot of seasoned players that can supply a lot of knowledge and not just stuff about porting.

Also the chat is usually light hearted and fun, and it never revolves around raiding mobs and "competing" for raid mobs. I think a lot of people who dislike raiding or are tired of raiding join DaP with their porters.
