Its interesting that there was always this looming threat of socialism/workers party reforms being passed after the industrial revolution, as viewed by the establishment, and there were always people literally fighting on their deathbed to prevent it.
But whether they were fighting Marxism or socialism isn't something you can figure at first glance. You'd need to be a historian on the subject in order to determine whether they were fighting Marxists or socialists-- maybe to them it was all the same.
My guess is socialism was smeared under Marxism. Today we have more of a separation of the two.
