What made America great was desegregation and fighting discrimination and sexism.
Except we don't bother to educate ourselves and our children on how crucial our growing pains have been.
You want to be upsets with the principles of democracy fine.
But it's not about me or people like me. I just have a fresh and unique perspective having done what I have. Joining the military. Reading. Learning. And being discriminated against and bullied.
I'm not going to write about how awesome it was growing up in my racist crap ass conservative town. But it's ignorant to ignore the truth because it's upsetting. Or because it's hard to fix. Or it's inconvenient.
