Some terms hurt when others direct them at you. A good way to stop those terms from being directed at oneself is to not act in a manner where those terms apply to you. Alternatively, you could reach out to the nearest university and maybe they can provide you with a safe space from these mean terms. And maybe, while you're there, they might also have a safe space for you during the holidays so you don't have to hear "happy holidays".
