Are you familier with the concepts of war? There is one simple variable that really matters. The army who has more people is the army that wins. Russia was able to essentially destroy the German army with untrained un-armed soldiers.
Gumption, intelligence, fortitude, all the things it takes to be a "john lock" libertarian are RARE in the gene pool. Not only can genetics fuck it up, but so can bad parenting, or great parenting cut short by bad luck, like a car accident or cancer or something.
