You need to avoid running the patcher. Using the "Launch Titanium.bat" script that came with the patch files to start EQ would be the simplest way to do that.
Alternatively you can make a shortcut to eqgame.exe, and edit the shortcut so that it has "patchme" at the end, i.e. "C:\path\to\eq\eqgame.exe patchme". The patchme part is an argument to eqgame.exe that (counter-intuitively, but whatever) skips to the start screen without running the patcher.

TY for both suggestions!
Currently, running the Launch Titanium .bat spits back "Windows cannot find 'eqgame'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, then try again."
Making a shortcut to my .exe then adding space patchme causes the shortcut to have an error, saying that pathway does not exist.
