What I don't understand is why this is such a big issue for folks? I just filter out /ooc if I get tired of it, or send it to another window & keep it minimized. Problem solved, no harm done. Carry on..

Why should anyone have to filter out /ooc? Why not just have people use it for its intended purpose?
Having said that, OOC seems to be cleaned up somewhat lately - but I'm not on very much, so YMMV.
