I used to moderate a giant bodybuilding forum, and it was a pretty common request, mostly due to their job or a family member knowing about the account. Say you mentioned smoking weed and snorting cocaine off strippers, and you're now going for a security clearance, military, FBI, whatever. Say you mentioned barfining ladyboys in Thailand and your new girlfriend uses your laptop. This happens all the time. People say stupid things on the internet and don't want it to haunt them down the road. Even if the chances are slim to none it is more peace of mind.
