I agree with you that militarization of police forces is a particularly disturbing development and have to strongly question why the police would have concussion grenades at all. Stun grenades? Sure. Concussion grenades though. Just doesn't seem right. I was thinking a concussion grenade was a stun grenade when you first mentioned it, but see that it is not.
On the otherhand, throwing shit at people with weapons is just stupid because they are people too and if they feel threatened, they are going to respond. The response must be enough to immediately halt aggression or you will see much more damage of persons and property. Obviously police should not have concussion grenades to respond with. If a situation rises to the level that they are necessary (pretty fucking high), the national guard should be there.
