Rogean's explanation seems perfectly reasonable to me. However, spawning non-instanced mobs on live also seems reasonable, given that all the content later in the game was instanced, and the people are paying. If you want to play on live and not experience the competition of original EQ, and Sony wants to humor you, then I see nothing wrong with it. I just see no reason to play with original content minus the ONLY F-ING THING that made it interesting: the competition.

By "competition" you mean 2 guilds poopsocking the entire raid content and leaving a pretty boring end game behind for the rest of the server. What a pathetic waste of time for both parties, SERIOUSLY!
