ya you gotta have thick skin to play here, but im telling you it effects new players, but like norse said its what you make of it, buy/selling does suck but its not THAT bad honestly you can still get items if you know how to look.
barren wasteland has to do with people giving up when the lvls get a little tough and no one to talk to.
