I've seen a lot of warriors walking around with a Staff of Battle which I think would go over well with the haste and is fairly cheap, but for 1 handed weps + the other slots I'm sort of at a loss.

Jarsath trident + GJB will last you a long time as far as 1h weapons go.
Both sell for ~100p ea in EC, and if you're lucky you might find people simply giving them away.
Those + crusty + haste will easily get you to 20+ in short order.
