college parties for me were weird. I liked to be the man on the scene so I'd avoid any scene where the competition was on equal footing. Problem is this preference caused me to create my own gravitational field when I was among mere mortals, literally. The bros would just circle me, hang off my every joke and one-liner, laugh when I laughed, copy my facial expressions mirror my emotional state, etc.
It was uncomfortable watching this in the back of my head.
I like people to be themselves. So this was a huge hurdle for me to overcome. I don't think I dealt with this silverback gorilla phenomenon very well because the guys seemed to be very nervous, at any second I could declare that they weren't cool and deselect them or something. We were just hanging out partying, but for them, it was LIFE AND DEATH. EACH JOKE OR INFERENCE I MADE WAS A PUZZLE TO THEM THEY HAD TO SOLVE.
Needless to say whether I thought they were cool or not seemed to matter a great deal to them.
As far as girls went, it was an automatic sealed deal if they were on even 1 or 2 beers. Hard to explain how cool this was. Even the coolest kid in your high school probably didn't experience something like this. It was the gravitational field at work again. Ex. Random night at the Beirut table from a nice blonde with a sleeve "U have nice eyes". o rly? I hadn't even spoken a single word to her. Me and my buddy left with them straight thugging. completely unsolicited attention from good looking women, something P99 wouldn't know about (outside of a few dawgs in my inner circle here).
Ive been described as two things. A "man of many faces", and "one way one minute, another way the next minute". ADD/ADHD Gemini w/ split personalities. Swinging from complete placid eye-glazing disinterest, to vibrant fully connecting lucidity. Don't click easily with people because most of you aren't very interesting. Again I like characters. I click best with people who "put on" a little personality here and there and have their own swag/career.
In closing, to your assessment, yeah, I wouldn't be having fun at a P99 meetup. I also might have deselected you while you took too long to solve a puzzle of a one-liner "the sky is blue today huh?". You'd be tripping all over yourself trying to figure it out.
