without the auction site? At least with the auction site you could go back several weeks. You can have people do that over the course of minutes to lull people into false prices. Heck there are probably ec bots who have multiple characters logged in at the same time advertising false prices, and probably forum handles belonging to the same person doing the same thing. This wasn't something unique to the auction site.
