you can comfortably level a cleric 1-60 naked, don't worry about gear too bad. just get exp and level up. any time you waste in EC tunnel auctioning is time you could be getting exp and progressing. unless the gear you get speeds this progression up more than you spent auctioning and farming, it isn't worth it and you can go a long way before this happens. don't worry about it until you're over lvl 50.
its worth it to buy some banded armor and a basic weapon like a sharkbone warhammer so you can train 1hb in your spare time. beyond that don't bother.
go to mistmoore and get some small bronze drops from the trash mobs as you level to fill slots. save your plat for spells, and save any excess you get for jboots. after you get jboots, fill some empty slots with jewelcrafter items. detour to split paw at some point while you're leveling, and maybe the ogres in karanas there's some good leveling gear there which you can acquire in under an hour. do that innoruk symbol quest and consider some of the other cleric class quests (some are NOT worth it) 50+ if you don't have any gear still, pick up a set of jarsath scale while leveling in seb and grab a tainted battleworn morning star rot. save your plat for bracer of the hidden and spells. fill your slots with basic shitty gear, but don't drop more than 1-2k on any slot unless you're purchasing a top tier droppable like lodi shield or something.
theres probably some juicy and easy to get drops i'm forgetting, but i haven't played in almost a year. but it won't matter if you miss em
just focus on getting to velious levels that's where you'll start getting gear. don't waste your time and plat on things you won't use 50+.
