Same here actually. I always use masculine pronouns and nouns. Ill say like "bye guys" etc. to 2 women on my way out of the bar.
Any group of women and men, automatically refer to them all as male too. But I do it with women in groups too. Group of women will be offhandedly referred to as "guys" during convo such as "yeah I bet you guys like that." etc.
I consider this to have fringe benefits as what is known as a "false-disqualifier" when running game. So whether its casual convo, polite convo, or gaming for pickups, its going to stay in my vocabulary.
Never met a woman strong enough to protest it, or take issue with it per se.

I've never had a woman get bothered when I referred to her as
he myself. The only corrections come when you refer to a female not-present as a
he and people insecure in the equality of women have to specify it's actually a "she" to remind me women can do things too.
