People playing Everquest usually have one thing in common, they play Everquest. Talking about your other characters or the stuff you have is the EQ equivalent of a normal human conversation. Your analogy falls short. It's not that talking about EQ in EQ is like talking about buying a jacuzzi with normal adults, it's that talking about your awesome gear and main in a group of lowbie newbs is like bragging about your new jacuzzi while you're dishing out food at the local soup kitchen. It's unnecessary and makes you a dick.
