Spec's work solid till 49ish (Maybe a little lower and that Lady at Fear portal works till 59? Memory is iffy) and have decent plat. Kaesora as mentioned pet tanking is lots of fun, basically anything that you can fear kite (Ogre guards too) works nicely. I didn't bother charming much pre-50, even until 54 I mostly root rotted with splurt because charm duration and such sucked, but did mix in CoM charming pre-54.
Can also try charming stables in mid/upper 40s in CoM if it's not busy in zone.
I never worried about pet out DPSing me that much while fear kiting because I could kill damn near twice as much letting him go most of the work. Leveling was still very fast.
