Each letter in the code had a numeric value that was based on the sum of its digits assigned 1-26. So Z = 2 + 6 = 8. Each group of letters added up to a digit of value 1-26 that represented a letter.
It spelled out s u b r e d d i t t e a r s i n r a i n which led to further clues directing the person to say a certain phrase to my character at a certain place.
