Daldoma: I'm not disagreeing with you at all. I guess I did put emphasis on the stranger danger when it is more likely to be raped by someone you see somewhat often. I realize that. And I know it's unlikely, but it's not impossible.

On my college campus a girl was walking back from taking an exam from a building I went to every single day. It was about 10 at night. A man tried to attack her and she screamed for help. Luckily someone heard her and the man ran off but I could have easily been that girl. I had an exam the day before at 8pm in a building right next door to where it happened.

No, it's not a constant fear of mine. But like you said, I don't usually put myself in situations that I need to be afraid of. That doesn't mean it never crosses my mind. So I have to disagree with you in that you can understand that fear. Men generally don't fear being raped. It is impossible for you to understand the fear of having a man overpower in such a way. It's not that you don't try to understand or you don't care or you don't have the empathy or capability. You just can't understand. That was what I was getting at.
