As a Monk, I'd argue the benefit from Iksar isn't as much about the AC boost as it is about the extra regen. When FD'ed, it makes a huge difference. The AC is just the icing on the scales.

The monk is a fungi twink and is not intended to ever reach 55+. In between fungi and combat BWing (to 70% eventually) the regen difference won't be all that. Adding this to the equation the iksar regen actually is negligible.
This is why I'm specifically interested in hearing how big the AC bonus is. If the AC bonus is big this would be a potential deal breaker because if I wanna get beat up I'll play my ranger.
