Holy shit, I almost agreed with a post by Abacab.
Rape is a terrible thing and there is no excusing it - especially when said excuse hinges on what the victim was wearing - but it's hardly so common place that one should need to worry about it happening 'at any time'.
Yes, as a male, I don't have to constantly watch out for the dangers of predatory males (though it should be pointed out that cases of male rape do occur), but unsure as to why the same cannot be said of men worrying about other serious violent crimes. I could be set upon by one of the knife-wielding gangs of 15 year-olds that prowl the streets where I live, and I don't think it's too unfair to draw a comparison between being raped and being repeatedly stabbed or kicked to death. Each has their own drawbacks.
The statement of 'fact' that rape can occur 'at any time' is a bit iffy also. I hate to be one of her male friends spending time with her while she constantly watches my every move lest the reprehensible nature of my gender springs to the fore and I pounce on her in the middle of Taco Bell. Douchebags the majority may be, but few men are actual sex offenders.
