Exactly, I think I missed the boat on this when I was 18. Now that I'm 28, the years after, I take into account heavily. Add that with having full custody of an eight-year-old, I don't see myself just doing school for the next billion years. I wish I could though =)
Overall, I see myself attaining my BS Degree and pursuing a masters slowly for the first year- while working. Then maybe, eventually stop working again and going full fledged into my masters.
As much I would like to just keep going to school, I'm a bit worried about having such a large gap in my employment history. Right now I got 10 years of work experience admin, management, and sales. My current position is an Account Executive with an international Sign company that specializes in Architectural designs.
I don't feasibly see myself making more than I do now even with a BS or Masters, but I want the education for own self-interest , as well as other options.
Right now I make 80 - 95k a year. As my job does have profit sharing and commission incentives. My base annual rate is 70k a year, which isn't too shabby for only a high school diploma.
The problem is, my choice of major preferred is Engineering , but getting an undergrad in Engineering won't yield me any work , as the work experience i have is more towards business admin , which is my second choice of major.
So between choosing my major and school, that leaves me figuring everything out as I go. So far this is my analysis.
