Paladin, Druid, and Bard would all fit with Centaur as well.

Inherent speed boost is a huge deal, so not being able to use leg or foot equipment would actually be a good balance anyway. They should probably have a strong racial Kick ability. I wouldn't put their strength as high as Ogres, but the second highest of all the races makes sense. Their starting agility would need to be shit, only 55 there (also, every race should really have a max cap for their stats, at least a soft cap, now that we're on that subject). Charisma only 55 because Centaurs are usually quite xenophobic and rude to outsiders, which is also a good balance with them being able to play Bards, since inherent speed boost on Bard creates the fastest character in the game. Wis/Int at 70, Dex at 75.
I'm having a hard time thinking about how to balance that and also make it feel classic and not slapped on custom content.

A Centaur would have great strength and stamina I think, so it's hard to imagine anyone rolling a Barbarian if they were introduced as a strong good aligned monster race.

At any rate, the speed boost would need to be higher, making them ideal and more fun to play as plain Warriors when pulling without sow, and the carry capacity could be 2x as much before becoming encumbered.

id play a gnoll. way cooler than froglok
The Scent racial I came up with was originally an idea for Gnolls, so they could be natural trackers. I just don't see Gnolls being a viable player race.

Brownies....imagine playable brownies!!!! Would be so amazing! So tiny, so brownie. They could even start in rivervale (since Nillipus has been working there as a diplomat for so many years).

Also, they are basically just really tiny elves....so it would be possible to display all armor even! [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
Haha, I considered Bixies a long time ago.

I was working on an idea for a Technomancer type class that has two summons, one as a weak warrior that can tank and one as a much weaker Shaman that only casts weak buffs on the summoner and the summoners party, like a "repair clockwork" that can also cast weak heals too. Basically a support summon. Both would have to be managed or they'd break down/fade with oil or random parts instead of bone chips like the Necromancer.

I had an idea for a playable clockwork race, too, but it didn't pan out. Anything that seems too "custom" is a turn off.
