I love this idea. Would suggest an innate tracking ability of 50 or 75 that will never level, similar to courage with iksar.
Matter of fact 100 starting swimming and 50 forage sound good too.
Rats can hold their breath for long periods underwater, +50% lung capacity?

Yep, briefly considered tracking, actually.
I did write up the racial for the tracking ability, but again, when looking at the classic races, we don't have Iksar to compare things to, so they were getting a little overpowered.
------------------------------------
Scent - Natural tracking (50)
Ratmen have naturally gifted senses of smell, and being the natural scavengers and trackers that they are, they have honed their noses by routinely hunting down creatures for loot, and of course their food.
------------------------------------
Then again, if Ogres can have frontal slam immunity and Trolls can have regeneration and it's not overpowered, maybe Chetari can have a little more.

I was thinking about custom GM events where clockworks were like terminators and the end boss (played by a GM) would drop a clickie illusions Noam clockwork

Funny story, I actually spent some time trying to look at new classic themed classes. Technomancer was one of them, basically a mixture of enchanter and necromancer that summons different clockwork pets at different levels. I didn't get far with it. I don't feel like Beastlord was "classic" in feel, if you know what I mean.

I hope the GMs will ratify this idea.

That stung a little...

I like the work that you put into this, but I do t wanna be a rat :/

Lol, this is just an idea for like, wayyy down the road after we've all done raids and classic content 100x for so many years. Something to add to EverQuest without actual "custom" content or custom zones, because that's awful. The Chetari work because they can start in Neriak and require no actual custom content.

I'm not gonna lie - I would like to be a rat. As previously mentioned, they deserve to have evil Clerics for their racial priest selection. I'd also like to see them get Monks for that sweet paw-to-paw combat feeling, but it's a moot point and people will still pick Iksar for the regen anyway.
I like the OP's stat choices - no need to add more to them. The only question I would have is how do the rats in the Hole factor into the lore revision?
|
It would definitely be fun to play a Chetari Rogue, I think. I'll add Cleric to them, but I don't know starting stats yet. I was simply looking at what their classes are in the actual game, and I only found those four. The Ratmen in the hole are a separate group from the ones in Velious, I think. I got the lore from the EverQuest bestiary.

Could restrict them to Veeshan for deity ^^

In my made up lore, they are "pretending" to fall in line with the Dark Elves and secretly their Clerics are worshiping Zlandicar.
