That 20k law degree in Australia is recognised internationally. So yeh 200k for education is stupid. Also what lawyer outside New York is making 500k?
Average lawyer graduation is 80-90k aligned with most other professionals in sciences/engineering. If I had my time over I'd go into finance.
Personally I never realised it was such a competition. Every country has benefits and drawbacks. But culturally Australia and the USA are virtually identical.

but that's in australia...which isn't 'merica. who wants to learn the wrong way to spell words?
At the end of the day, most law in "empire country" is derived from English Law - doesn't matter if you practice law in 'merica, australia, new zealand, or UK, the basic principals are the same.
Self employed and specialists (e.g. malpractice, international business, etc.) make boatloads.
