I didn't say it was stated IN the second amendment, but it is stated in many corroborating documents.
"If the representatives of the people betray their constituents, there is then no recourse left but in the exertion of that original right of self-defense" - Alexander Hamilton
"I ask, Sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people. To disarm the people is the best and most effectual way to enslave them." - George Mason

Accurate and good post. I imagine Nihilist himself may have replied to this post. (RIP) The intent was an armed constituency to stave off tyranny.
Arguing otherwise is really really bizarre. Its like, do you know anything about Independence Day? Or the history of the US?
This is one time where I will go all "LIBERALS! LIBERALS!" and say liberals are fucking weirdos on this one. They don't have a leg to stand on. I have no fucking clue why they make this argument in the news media. They love the precise interpretation of a document unless it has to do with something that needs to bent to suit their own agenda.
Ask any veteran about gun control in regards to the terror attacks recently. "I'd rather be able to fight for my own life, or at least have the option to, even if I don't carry a gun, I want it to be my fault if I die to a gunman. I want to die knowing I had a choice, even if I didn't make the 'right' choice that particular night. I deserve the right to be able to make that decision unless you can get 300 million guns off the street tomorrow". - Marc Lutter US Marines.
So wormy, so underhanded, so morally bankrupt.
