^dead on, but i think you're a little mistaken about it being due to minor withdrawal. Kind of counterintuitive, but the actual oxycodone high makes you aggressive and nasty and easily pissed as well as loquacious. If the dude was falling short on doses or just maintaining, I think you would find he had less energy for spitting fire not more.
Guy like Rush, realizing his dependence on escalating doses, probably cycles down and withdraws during "vacations" so he can stay flying on the air.
