I respect your mind but on this issue I think you're a little biased. You look at the best of the conservatives (and tend to present the libertarian side of conservatives although they are not the average conservative) but at the worst of the liberals.
I get (and agree) with the liberals ironically forcing their message of tolerance on other people but you should remember that Gay Pride parades exist solely because of homosexual discrimination. And this discrimination is not solely social (and this is very significant). The conservatives have actually been socially tyrannical in ways that partially causes modern day liberals to act like they do. As much as the conservatives may want to be left alone (rightfully so) they don't return the favour as you imply.
