You suppose women are well-adjusted to the change and coping well without marriage. This remains to be seen and we won't know the effects for another 10-15 years as X further matures.
There are already a litany of anecdotal complaints from older Gen X'ers and career women who wish they had spent more time in college on finding a life partner. Much of the same is said for child-bearing.
