The FBI must operate independently to keep credibility. The rules on profiling set by the DOJ and the Obama Administration has the FBI handicapped by political correctness and LEFTWING politicking. Also less people. Primetime would be midnight to 1 AM when everyone who's anyone is going to be there partying. Pretty much every single witness said "I showed up at midnight". This goes for any club, any clubber knows this.
He wasn't stupid. This looks like more of a vendetta of some kind turned into a terror attack, and less like your run of the mill terror attack. It screams lone wolf vendetta. Anyone who has friends, got ass or a hookup/pickup, is out of the door before the lights come on. Lights on = buzzkill.
There's more to his motive that hasn't come out, and may not come out. I guarantee he knew at least 1 person he wanted to kill would be there after close. There is someone who disrespected him there personally. Islam helped build the bodycount up by attacking other innocents, but this looks primarily motivated by a beef with a certain group or certain person who he associated the entire gay culture with inside the club. A bartender or staff.
There is no other motive for waiting until last call is over and close when casualties would be at their lowest. For a suicide attack you want maximum casualties, it was a no-brainer. Hes a smart guy. This had a personal vendetta angle to it and appears to have the MO of lone wolf terror more than Islamic terror. ISIS would demand maximum casualties and club close doesn't cut it.
