I'll never understand the right-wing fascination with Putin. How can you like Putin? Because you feel he is a "badass" due to the carefully tailored image he presents? Because the degenerate backwards-ass Russian culture adores him?

He's a true leader and while many of his decisions can be criticized, he brought stability to a country that was going through troubled times.

He is very popular in Russia and other countries after several terms.

These two points sound pretty good to me.

I guess it's enough that he takes his shirt off and rides horses and then flies fighter jets. Trump supporters, good God.

Nobody's perfect, those little gimmicks were silly and I don't think he does them any more. He isn't liked because he can ride a horse topless, he's liked for what he represents - a leader who knows what he is doing.

Now don't take me wrong, there are many sides to Putin's regime which I dislike - the press isn't as free as it should be, corruption is widely spread up to the highest levels of power, the country is still very oil exports dependent.. But it could have been a lot worse.

Also I liked when he basically said "fuck you" to Turkey. I never liked turks.
