He wasn't being violent, the childs life wasn't in danger. He was getting a few scrapes, no big deal.
They should have used Soviet grade tranq darts, they are fast acting and do not "take a long time to kick in" Many opioids are extremely potent Sudafentanil can knock a elephant out immediately at the right dose, then you give them anti-opioid medication to save them.
Sounds pretty simple buddy. The technology exists to tranq the gorilla, they just didn't have it on hand.

It's all over the news. If the gorilla would of continued to drag that kid around he'd of been a sack of potatoes by the time the tranqs kicked in. Hell he could of whipped the kid into the trees thinking he was a monkey.
