vanco is top as far as clinical use goes.
The others that are stronger than vanco, do not gain resistance, but they cause damage to your body and cannot be used unless its confirmed that you are dying. They can also kill the patient.
I can't think of the name off the top of my head, but there's 2-3 big boys from the early 1900's that are used only as a last resort when the clinical use MRSA antibiotics have failed and maiming the patient (turning him into redjamz) is no longer a concern as keeping the patient alive is more important.
If you find someone in OT who can name a few of them, I'd be genuinely surprised. I knew at one point but its already forgotten as it had no application.
I know someone who was given IV emergency vanco. Not going to detail anything, but there was side effects.
