Those games are all quite different. So it really depends on what you're looking for in a game.

I will say Overwatch is going to be widely successful and anyone that thinks otherwise is kidding themselves with some weird form of blind Blizzard hatred. It's a video game company, get over it. Also, anyone who hates Blizzard might actually have down syndrome.

Couple things about Overwatch:

No, it probably isn't worth $60 because a game like Secret Ponchos (Free on PSN @ one point and $20 from the tiny indie company that made it) was equally fun and had ALMOST as much depth. It just had less maps and characters to choose from than Overwatch. Same type of game, one isometric, one not. Does any of this matter? No, not really but this is a great example of how brilliant Blizzard is at creating a self sustaining economy for a game.

Here is what will happen. They will release DLC across all platforms (in about 6-12 months if not sooner) in the form of characters and maps. That's probably it and honestly that's probably all they will need to keep this game successful. Being a matchmaking game allows them to keep costs down by having minimal dev maintenance and keeps the customer base somewhat pleased with constant new content.

The game itself...is fairly badass. It has some MOBA-quality-style-teamwork, in that synergy is highly important yet it has the feel of a gritty-arena-FPS. I imagine I will burn out much faster than any MMO I have ever played purely because this is just a casual game. It may end being an e-sport, sure, but this is not a game that has any sort of progression and the gratification is instant.

Glad I spent money on it and well aware we all overpaid but it's a fun ass game with how plagued the MMO scene is right now.

Its already a Esport. There are tourneys being held and leagues being run for it already and it hasnt even gotten its competitive feature yet.
