Monk just gets so many advantages in this time line, I think of them as the only true hybrid (able to fill multiple roles.)

Good disciplines
Decent hitpoints: higher than all but 3 classes no? Could be wrong here
Low ac gear, but ac bonus
Great complements: sneak+fd+eye+stonestance, mend+fungi+mitigation+high bind wound skill
They are also self sufficient, complement other classes well, and stack well with others of same class-type: meaning having one monk already doesn't really diminish the role of a class that fills the same role as the monk.
