The mistwalker rumor was that Mendan purchased the mistwalker from a fellow Nihilum literally the week before the patch was made to make the pet despawn after 1-2 rounds of melee combat. Before that a Druid or ranger could proc mistwalker and then have a pet path around with them that hit harder than the lvl 49 Magician/Necromancer pets. Once buffed it was a legitimately powerful pet, it's hitpoints were a lot less than the summonable counterparts but it's DPS was remarkably high, dual wielding it would quad 80s if i recall.
The juiciest bit but also the biggest trollbait was that the sale went through literally the week the patch went in and the tinfoil hat theory was that Arzak as a developer for Project 1999, albeit a low level faction dev, had prior knowledge of the impending patch. A historian of the server like Colgate might recall all the facts much better but seemingly time and again Arzak (and his Nihilum constituents) had prior knowledge to patch notes and changes.
