There are perks to each - both can keep aggro if they're equipped/played correctly.
Warriors don't suck at all - they're just a very narrow, specialized class. In a lot of tanking situations in terms of groups, paladins are better. Warriors are probably better overall as raid tanks.
And don't underestimate that hybrid exp penalty...
