My worst one was probably a trip to Vancouver to play in a series of poker tournies. Had a shit week leading up to the main event, was probably stuck about 4-5k on the trip. The night before the main event started ($2650 buyin) I went out for a few drinks with some friends, some coke was busted out and I ended up getting absolutely shitfaced drunk/high, stayed up til like 8am w/ the tourney starting at noon and was an absolute mess when it actually started. Sitting at that poker table it felt like I'd literally just lit $2650 on fire because I was just completely useless, barely staying awake at the table, misreading the board/other peoples hands and ended my tournament by shoving over a bet on the turn with 2 pair in a spot where there was literally 0% chance the other dude was bluffing.
That was a couple years ago now though, and while I'm not way better at poker I am much better at keeping myself out of retarded spots like that
