Yeah when I think EQ progression, I think having a Crown of Rile to jump forever on FTE footraces from the far end of the zone because we have to have horribly oppressive staff intervention because we're spoiled brats who can't share their toys.
Oh no, wait. When I think EQ progression, I think being able to kill the target.

Except you are wrong. Classic EQ progression in Velious was about having the right gear and levels to kill the targets. It was about having the proper strategy and spawn timers. Only 1 or 2 guilds on each server in Classic were consistently doing the things it took to down those targets consistently. When you look at this server and the way it has played out you have the same system. You just have more players at 60. You have that format pushed to the extreme.
So now you have GM's trying to setup a system for guilds to compete. Having that barrier of progression is healthy and gives guilds that want to break in a avenue of progression. On Classic those smaller guilds would rarely have a chance to see these targets. They have a path here that they never would have had on live. Even with that path they want to skip progression and be handed something that they never would have had in Classic on live.
I think Sirken's changes without anything being added or lawyered further is as fair as you can make it when you look at the casuals in regards to the hardcore. The casuals have their avenue for progression. Awakened and Aftermath do not commit as much resources to Trak and VP as they do ToV and Kael. Progress your guild through that avenue. Instead of taking advantage of the avenues available to them they want to completely bypass the avenue and have the larger guilds handcuffed because they did progress through those avenues.
