The reason right-leaning people support this more often then you would think at a glance, is because they view it as a way of getting rid of bureaucracy and simplifying government into straight redistribution.
And it is simply a fact that there is going to be a problem eventually when humans are no longer needed for labor jobs (and even a lot of technical jobs).
