There's usually about 10 people in a guild that don't benefit from pure DKP, and they're generally the most useful players. Straight DKP systems are for when you have a powerful constituency of warmbodies and you're worried about them losing hope. Don't forget to Jibeknn it and make sure the playmakers get enough to screw the scrubs over anyways!
